Liam McGoldrick's point deep into injury-time saw Coleraine dethrone reigning county and Ulster champions Slaughtneil in tonight's Derry SFC quarter-final replay at Owenbeg.

It's the Emmet's first Derry SFC defeat since 2015 when they were beaten by Lavey as Coleraine progress to a last four meeting with Ballinascreen after a narrow 1-11 to 0-13 victory.

As in the original fixture at the same venue, the game hung in the balance moving into the final quarter with the impressive Colm McGoldrick (1-5) putting Coleraine level before his brother Liam struck for the match winning score on 65 minutes. It was a family affair for the McGoldrick's as they were joined in the Coleraine starting 15 by three more siblings, Sean Leo, Barry and Ciaran.

With key duo Brendan Rogers and Patsy Bradley back from injury, Slaughtneil raced into a 0-6 to 0-0 lead before Colm McGoldrick opened Coleraine's account from a 20 minute free.

Bidding for a five-in-a-row of John McLaughlin Cups, Slaughtneil went on to lead by 0-10 to 0-6 at half-time with Christopher Bradley, Shane McGuigan and Brian Cassidy all on target. The full-forward line trio were responsible for all bar one of their side's scores over the contest.

The turning point came in the 42nd minute when Colm McGoldrick flicked a Ruairi Mooney pass to the net to reduce the gap to just two points, 0-13 to 1-8. The holders were kept scoreless for the final 20 minutes as midfielder Niall Holly added to Coleraine's tally.

By the 55th minute, Colm McGoldrick made it all square and then with 30 seconds left on the clock Liam McGoldrick stepped up to win it for the Eoghan Rua men.
