Scorer of 13 points, including six from play, Aaron Gillane was in unerring form as Limerick beat Cork after extra-time in another Croke Park thriller to reach their first All-Ireland SHC final since 2007.
It didn't go unnoticed to RTE co-commentator Michael Duignan, though, the unsually high number of times the talented forward lost his hurl this afternoon and during the Treaty County's quarter-final replay win over Kilkenny.
A coincidence perhaps or could it be that he needs a better grip on his hurl?
Gillane limped off injured in extra-time, but was confident of being fit for the decider in three weeks' time.
"Ah it's alright. It happened me a few times so I'm used to it. I'll do the rehab over the next few days and it'll be grand. There'll be no fear of me," he told RTE.
TweetAaron Gillane has lost his hurley five times in the half, and it happened four times against Kilkenny. Unusual.
