Rhode's remarkable record of having not lost a game in the round-robin series of the Offaly SFC for 17 years was almost ended by Ferbane yesterday.
The reigning county champions were trailing by five points before a late goal from substitute Shane Lowry put them ahead. However, an up-and-coming Ferbane side rescued a 0-14 to 2-8 draw thanks to an injury-time equalising free.
Paul McPadden had scored Rhode's other goal earlier in the keenly-contested Bord na Mona O'Connor Park contest.
