O'Kelly-Lynch's dual dilemma

June 11, 2018

Sligo's Gerard O'Kelly Lynch

Sligo dual star Ger O'Kelly-Lynch could be asked to play two big games in the space of a few hours after the Yeats County's Lory Meagher Cup final and All-Ireland football second round qualifier were fixed for the same day.

The St. Mary's clubman is a key member of the Sligo hurling and football teams which will be in action on Saturday week, June 23 at venues that are over 200km apart. The hurlers will face Lancashire in Croke Park at 12 noon, while the footballers will host Armagh in Markievicz Park at 6pm.

It's an unfortunate clash which once again underlines the lack of regard that's shown to dual players when it's comes to making fixtures these days.
