Gary Walsh has reportedly been dropped from the Laois team for tomorrow's Allianz Football League Division 4 final in the wake of his controversial tweet about the rape trial involving Irish rugby internationals Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding.

The Ballylinan sharpshooter is the League's top scorer with 4-41 to his credit but, according to Laois Today, he won't feature against Carlow at Croke Park tomorrow afternoon after he tweeted that the woman at the centre of the trial should be identified following the Not Guilty verdict.

Laois GAA and their main sponsors MW Hire immediately disassociated themselves from the tweet, while Walsh subsequently offered an apology, saying "It was ill-judged on my behalf".

It's not clear if Laois manager John Sugrue will release a team to the media before tomorrow's final.
