How the mighty have fallen!
A 2-12 to 3-11 defeat to Sligo in a winner-takes-all clash at Markievicz Park this afternoon saw Derry suffer league relegation for the third straight year. Like Westmeath in 2014, '15 and '16, the Oak Leafers have dropped from Division 1 to 4 in successive seasons and, needless to say, their supporters aren't happy.
Derry have been relegated to Division4 football. They reached the Division1 Final in 2014. Bad times for a great football county! #GAA

Our County Board are a disgrace and a complete shambles, if our chairman had anything in him he would walk away. The continuous obsession with promoting Celtic Park and Owenbeg has been to the detriment of Gaelic football in Derry

April 2014 - Derry lose to Dublin in Division 1 Football Final. April 2018 - Derry relegated to Division 4. #GAA #AllianzLeague #AllianzLeagueSunday

Sad, sad times for Derry football. Need the support now more than ever. Can only go up from here. DOIRE ABU
Down looking destined for Division 3. Derry relegated to Division 4. Don't tell me the players aren't there in both counties! Cause they bloody are, both were in Division one 3/4 seasons ago!!
