Roscommon returned to winning ways in the Allianz FL Division 2 in impressive fashion against Louth this afternoon.

After suffering defeat to Down last time out, Kevin McStay's side bounced back with a comprehensive 1-21 to 0-12 victory over the Wee County in Drogheda.

Eight players made the scoresheet for the winners while substitute Donie Smith - who replaced Cathal Cregg in the 40th minute - took the scoring honours with 0-7 (3 frees).

The writing was on the wall for Pete McGrath's side after just seven minutes as they found themselves 0-0 to 0-5 in arrears.

Ryan Burns got them off the mark at the end of the opening quarter and they trailed by 0-6 to 0-10 when the half-time whistle sounded.

Diarmaid Murtagh's 48th minute goal wrapped up the two points for the primrose and blues who now turn their attention to next weekend's away fixture against Clare.
