Offaly GAA are mourning the sad passing of Pat McLoughney who was a member of the team that won the county's first Leinster SHC title in 1980.
The Coolderry clubman lined out at right corner-back on the history making side that overcame Kilkenny by 3-17 to 5-10 thirty-eight years ago.
He made his senior debut in the Faithful County jersey in 1971 and he bowed out of the inter-county scene on a high after that success.
He would later serve as a selector on the All-Ireland winning teams of 1994 and 1998 under Eamon Cregan and Michael Bond respectively.
Pat's medal collection also included three Offaly SHC titles with Coolderry while he was a selector with the team that captured county honours in 2015.
Funeral arrangements:
Reposing at his residence on Wednesday evening from 4.00pm with rosary at 8.00pm. Private removal on Thursday morning at 10.30am arriving in St. Ita's Church, Coolderry for Funeral Mass at 11.00am. Burial afterwards in Ettagh Cemetery.
