Team news: Gilroy goes with youthful side for league opener

Pat Gilroy has gone for a youthful Dublin side ahead of tomorrow's Allianz HL opener against Offaly at Croke Park.

The 2011 All-Ireland winning football boss has given first league starts to nine players - Bill O'Carroll, Cian Hendricken, Cian McBride, Tomas Connolly, Fergal Whitely, Ronan Smith, Alan Moore, Paul Winters and Fionn O Riain Broin.

Returnees Danny Sutcliffe, Conal Keaney, Peter Kelly and Joey Boland all miss the cut but there are starting positions for goalkeeper Alan Nolan and midfielder Johnny McCaffrey after lengthy absences while team-captain Liam Rushe is expected to be named on the bench.
