The cruciate curse has struck Armagh’s famous Mackin family for the second time in a matter of weeks.

Ciaran Mackin arrived at Celtic Park for the Orchard County’s All-Ireland SFC Round 2 clash with Derry on crutches after suffering the season-ending injury in training during the week. It came just a fortnight after his sister Aimee also ruptured her ACL for a second time in five years during Armagh’s Ulster senior ladies football final win over Donegal.

Aimee’s injury is also a blow to her AFLW club Melbourne Demons who she plays for alongside her sister and fellow county player Blaithin.
