Conor O’Neill will play no further part in Armagh’s All-Ireland SFC campaign after rupturing his Achilles against Westmeath last Saturday.
O’Neill was stretchered off just moments after kicking a point in the 0-16 to 0-11 win at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds. On the plus side, talisman Rian O’Neill is expected to return from a calf injury for Sunday’s clash with Derry at Celtic Park.
“Losing Conor, he has ruptured his Achilles, that’s a big blow and he has only come back,” Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney told reporters.
“We got a lot of knocks and bangs, there was a couple of big hits but that’s the way these things go."
