Armagh will face Tyrone in the Division 3A final next weekend

Shea Harvey’s goal five minutes from time helped Armagh cement their place in the Allianz Hurling League Division 3A final at Roscommon’s expense this afternoon.

It finished 1-22 to 0-20 at Dr Hyde Park, where the Orchard men produced the second-half good after having trailed by three (0-13 to 0-10) at the break.

Fionntán Donnelly (2 frees) and a pointed penalty from Simon Doherty had the victors level within five minutes of the restart and they’d eventually grab the lead through a Donnelly free which made it 0-19 to 0-18 with 10 minutes to go.

Dean Gaffney’s free doubled Armagh’s advantage ahead of Harvey hammering to the Rossies’ net to all but seal their final berth against neighbours Tyrone next weekend.

In Pearse Park, Longford booked their place in the Division 3B final against Fermanagh next weekend by seeing off Leitrim on a 1-26 to 2-13 score-line.

The Midlanders were dominant for large portions of the first-half as they went on to lead by 0-16 to 1-7 at the half and hit the jackpot early in the restart with a goal from Emmet Corrigan.

Leitrim had enjoyed the dream start to this derby semi-final when Joe Murray hit the net Longford net after just 15 seconds but he’d be sent off early in the second-half it left the Connacht men with a mountain to climb and they never scaled it.
