Motion 19 was defeated at the GAA's Special Congress at Croke Park earlier this afternoon and some have since taken to Twitter to air their views on the decision.
Terribly disappointing.

A proposal that had such support amongst players and gave them more meaningful games in Summer didn't get enough support amongst administrators. Whole system is a joke.
Over to the GPA now, I know what I'd do https://t.co/YrGwVd9rdt
GAA, again kicking can down the road. Proposal B was not perfect, but it was tweakable. Hopefully real change will come in 2023 or 2024 #ProposalB

Gutted 😪 Proposal B may not have been perfect but tweaks could have been made down the line. All GAA fans want is fairness and teams at a similar level playing each other. 80% of Players and 51% of Congress can’t be too far wrong. Hopefully this shows the need for change #GAA https://t.co/8ul2MPUkeo

Very disappointed for players & supporters throughout the country that Proposal B was not successful today. There is now an opportunity & urgent need to consult again & bring back an amended proposal to Congress in February. Change is needed and we have to listen to our players.

A chance for a change but NO we stick with what clearly isn’t working 🤷♂️ #Gaacongress

Surely a lot of county lads from the weaker counties will see sense now and walk away and get on with there lives. What is the point for them? #ProposalB https://t.co/pz37QxJand

An awful pity. Proposal B wasn't perfect but it was a start. What a moment in the sun can do for Counties big and small is immense. Players ignored.

Ugh. Another few years of the crock of shit provincial systems. They’re a dead duck, only prolonging the inevitable and wasting time that be used to tweak things to what we need. https://t.co/diqzzq8exF

It has been a hall of fame few weeks for the worst arguments sober GAA people have ever made in public https://t.co/RyCHhXaMC1

Proposal B would have easily crossed the line if the players had a vote. It should be a priority going forward to give players a say in what rule changes happen. They are they ones giving it everything, training 6-7 nights a week to provide this great entertainment. #gaa

TweetDisgraceful. Players should strike. The provincial championships bar Ulster are dead. https://t.co/2L3yfHkmHj
