Ferbane came from two points down in injury-time to beat Clara by six points in a dramatic Offaly SFC semi-final yesterday.
A week after bagging a hat-trick for Belmont in their narrow Offaly SHC semi-final loss to Coolderry, Oisin Kelly raised two more green flags as Ferbane prevailed on a 3-10 to 1-10 scoreline. But the win for Padraig Egan's men was tempered by the news that Shane Nally - who scored their first goal - and fellow county panellist Jack Egan both suffered broken legs, which will rule them out of the county final against champions Rhode, who edged out Tullamore by 2-9 to 1-10 in the second semi-final at Bord na Mona O'Connor Park.
A Niall McNamee goal helped 'The Village' to a 1-5 to 0-7 interval lead after they played against the wind in the first half, but a point from county hurler Shane Dooley and a Dean Carroll goal immediately after the restart put Tullamore in the driving seat.
However, Rhode replied with a major from Ruairi McNamee before late points from Anton Sullivan and Paul McPadden gave them the win.
TweetBest wishes to both Jack Egan and Shane Nally who both look to have sustained leg breaks in Tullamore today.Hugely unfortunate for two great club men.Ferbane panel devastated as both men recieved standing ovations as they were brought away by ambulance. @MidlandsSport @ferbanegaa
