IFC draw: Three evenly matched groups

March 06, 2017

Ballinabrackey and Dunderry will be among the favourites to land the Mattie McDonnell Cup

The 2017 Meath intermediate football championship draw was made this evening and the race for the top ranks is set to be competitive as ever.

Ballinlough's return to the Intermediate grade pits them against neighbours Drumbaragh and last year's finalists Dunderry.

Three of the favourites for outright honours, last year's Junior winners Bective, Curraha and Ballinbrackey are drawn together in Group B.

Walterstown, who were very unlucky against St Colmcille's in last year's semi final, will have it all to do if they are to reach the last four this time round as Group C also includes Oldcastle, Syddan and Donaghmore/Ashbourne.

GROUP A

Trim v Longwood
Dunderry v Drumbaragh
Ballinlough v St Michaels

GROUP B

Curraha v Kilmainham
Ballinabrackey v Bective
Ballivor v Castletown

GROUP C

Oldcastle v Syddan
St. Ultans v Walterstown
Nobber v Donaghmore/Ashbourne
