Hunt for a Hunk - Hunt for the Hunk turned out to be a huge success last Saturday night with over 350 people packing the Comet to see the Hunks and their escorts put through their paces (with varying degrees of success in the case of some of our Hunks). After a long tense night master of ceremonies Tommy Maguire declared that the winner and proud holder of the title of "Faughs Hunk 2010" to be Pauric McNally who was escorted to the stage by Grainne Miller. Many thanks to all our Hunks and their wonderful escorts for their efforts both before the event and on the night, thanks also to the organising committee of Aine, Brona, Sinead, Fiona and the 2 Melissas, Cha Lynch for capturing the event on video, Aidan and Gary Ward and their staff for the use of The Comet, Tommy Maguire for comparing the night, Taine King for the slideshow, Glen Murphy taking all the photos and to you our members and friends who made it such a memorable night with your participation and donations to both the club and to charity. Senior Fixture - The seniors play their penultimate league game this weekend when they face Latton in St Marys Park on Saturday afternoon at 4.00PM.



Winter Training Programme - The programme got off to a great start last weekend with over 100 kids attending on the night. It continues tonight (Thursday) with Boys U6 at Rath na nOg (6-7PM), Girls U6/U8/U10 in the Convent gym (6-7PM), Boys U8 on the Convent Astroturf (6-7PM) and Boys U10 Convent Astroturf (7-8PM), cost per child is €2 and a maximum charge per family of €4 will apply. The programme will run for 7 consecutive weeks until November 25th and will resume on 27th of January for a further 7 week run. As with last year all the participants will receive a small gift at Christmas. Please note that in line with child safety procedures we are implementing a sign-in policy and all children must be signed in AND out of each session. New children are welcome any Thursday night. Speedy Recovery - Our best wishes go to Marty McElroy and we hope he has a speedy recovery after his recent hospitalization.

Boys School - Congratulations to the Boys School team who captured the Cumann na mBunscoil Division 1 title last Saturday morning.

U15 Blitz - The U15 squad under the watchful eyes of Paddy Conlon, Liam McElroy and Ray McArdle travelled to Cloghan last Friday and put in some creditable performances and are looking forward to the conclusion of this competition on Friday week.

U13 Blitz - This Friday night sees the conclusion of the U13 blitzes in Cloghan and the squad under Bart McNamara and Terry Duffy would appreciate any support to come along on the night.

Lotto - Lotto numbers for the week ending 11th Oct 2010 were 05, 12, 25 and 28. There was no Jackpot winner; one person matched 3 numbers to win €150; Martin Brady, Dundalk Rd, Castleblayney. Next week's jackpot is €11,000.
