Trim recently could not field a full u16 football team and I think a U16 hurling team. I know they like to blame Kiltale for their problems but they can't be stealing the over a hundred 16 year olds in Trim.

Maybe if it was just hurling teams not fielding you could try blame someone else but i havent heard of any Trim footballers playing for other clubs. Truth is that that particular age grade A. wasnt very successful and B. had a very high attrition rate so made it difficult to keep players.

Well aware that winning shouldnt be the only reason for lads to keep playing but put into perpective, the teams 2 or 3 years older had great success in hurling and football and the teams beneath are going to 2 feiles, have won U13, U14 hurling and football titles etc. while having large panels.

That U16 age just seemed to always lack players really, only now has it all finally hit rock bottom.

gilsey, i dont think trim have any problems at underage, only when players living in there parish and played for their club suddenly quit and start playing with smaller clubs, how is hurling going in some of the north meath clubs im sure kiltale would be able to answer that one too........ hush hush wink wink!!!

Kiltale had 2 players who had played for went school in kiltale and grew up in kiltale . No one else is taking them Trim just can't keep them

if trim are complaining about players beig stolen by kiltale they obviously dont have a problem if the bet kiltale in the under 14 championship last year

I do not think that any town team should be complaining about guys from the edge of a town going and playing with the local rural club as most towns have difficulty in managing the youth at their disposal.

trim had almost the same kiltale team trown out of the u13 the year before because they beat them in a semi final because of those 2 players trim then won the final and went to feile

Soccer is taking hold in trim in my opinion, theres no point looking to slate a progressive club like kiltale, even with dodgy recruitment, when the problem lies much closer to home.

Not going to even go near the area of dodgey player catchment but saying soccer is taking over is a bit extreme, even when i like Trims soccer teams doing well. Why did Knightsbrook FC have to join with longwood to keep fielding? Why have Trim Celtic dropped their 3rd team...?

For a town where soccer is meant to be taking over, its strange that their underage teams are currently going their strongest in years. Not going to brag and list them out. Not a sure sign of future success by any means but certainly helps.

trim have won under 14 football league div 2 and made the final of div 1 championship in football and are also representing meath in the feile at hurling at the same level....... and then some say there is a problem in the town at underage level............ where do they get their information.
