Wee injury concerns for Fitzer

Louth manager Peter Fitzpatrick has a number of injury concerns ahead of the new campaign.

Definitely out of the start of the campaign is St Patrick's Sean Connor who suffered a broken foot in training ahead of their Leinster club SFC clash against Portlaoise.

Also on the treatment table at the moment are Aaron Hoey and Declan Byrne, who are recovering from broken fingers, while Mark Brennan is still recovering from a long term groin injury.

Fitzpatrick admits that they have a few injury concerns as well as a few lads that could be involved with their colleges in the New Year.

"We have about 45 players on the books at the moment and we'll be calling them all together next week," Fitzer revealed to the Drogheda Independent.

"It's difficult because there are quite a few carrying injuries and some of the younger lads could still make their college teams like James Califf, Eoin O'Connor and Jim McEneaney - so that could rule them out of the O'Byrne Cup with us."
