Limerick GAA are reported to be looking into the possibility of using the playing pitches of a former secondary school.

In 2015, in the year of its 40th anniversary, the St Enda's Community School in Limerick city closed down. However, it is now being used as a further education facility, but the playing pitches are unused.

Limerick GAA have expressed an interest in using the pitches and Limerick secretary Mike O'Riordan addressed the situation in his report to last night's convention.

"Over the past 18 months we have been in discussions with the LCETB regarding the possibility of utilising the playing pitches of the former St Enda's Community School site on the LCETD Kilmallock road Campus," writes O'Riordan.

"This will be outlined thoroughly early in the New Year."
