James McCartan has cast doubt over Dan Gordon's involvement with Down in this year's championship.

The experienced Loughlinisland clubman is struggling with a broken bone in his foot and wasn't part of the squad for yesterday's Ulster SFC quarter-final win over Derry.

"Dan Gordon, he wished us well by text. Dan's football for 2013 would be doubtful," the Down manager is quoted as saying in the Irish Daily Star.
McCartan is, however, hopeful of being able to call on Danny Hughes and Aidan Carr for the Ulster semi-final against All-Ireland champions Donegal.

"Danny Hughes will have two more weeks training under his belt and Aidan Carr as well. There will be one or two others pushing." Tweet
