ACFL Div 2: Limavady 1-06 Greenlough 2-14 (05/05/13) - Good away win for Seniors at Limavady
Due to Derry, Enda Lynn and Brian McCallion's involvement in the NFL Division 2 final last Sunday, Greenlough's Senior team returned to league action after a week's break when they visited Limavady on Sunday 5th May 2013.
With the games put back to accommodate the club's 'Big Breakfast' the Senior game was up first at 4pm with a reversal of the normal roles, as the Reserve game went ahead afterwards at 5.30pm.
Limavady started brightly with the wind advantage, hitting a point in the first minute to take the lead. However, in the next twenty minutes before their next score, Greenlough took control, firstly with a point from Liam Quinn followed by one by Enda Lynn in the eighth minute.
A Seamus Graham goal in the 15th minute followed by a point from Fintan Kelly edged St Oliver Plunkett's ahead even further before Limavady's second point of the day in the 21st minute. Two Ryan Tohill pointed frees in the 25th minute, followed by a second from Fintan Kelly increased Greenlough lead to seven with four minutes of the opening period remaining, only for the lead to drop to six at the break with Limavady's third point with the last kick of the first half.
Half-Time: Limavady 0-03 Greenlough 1-06
On the restart it was Greenlough who pointed in the first minute of the half this time, with Cormac O'Neill firing over in just over thirty seconds. Fintan Kelly's pointed free was met with a point from Limavady, before Seamus Graham place the ball past the Limavady 'keeper for his second goal of the day. Limavady replied with a point in the 43rd minute, only for Seamus Graham, Brian McCallion and Fintan Kelly to respond with a point a piece in the next six minutes.
A Limavady goal with six minutes of normal time remaining showed the homeside hadn't given up, and with Christopher Bradley making two great saves to deny further goals in the preceding minutes, Greenlough needed to settle the ship.
Vice-captain John Og McPeake obliged two minutes later with a good point, only for Limavady to reply yet again. However, any lingering doubts were soon expelled when first Fintan Kelly pointed and then in the last minute of injury time, Connor Madden, who had made countless runs throughout the game, was rewarded for his hard work with a great point with almost the last kick of the game, ensuring a comfortable eleven point win for the St Oliver Plunkett's men.

After a weekend off due to Ogra having no Reserve team Greenlough's Reserves got back to action with the trip up to Limavady on Sunday evening, 5th May 2013.
In blustery condition and against the wind Greenlough struggled early on with Limavady netting a penalty and hitting a point to lead 1-1 to a point after the first five minutes. Points from Christopher Maguire, Cathal McGurk and Kevin McDonnell brought Greenlough back into it, before the visitors hit two goals, first a penalty from Christopher Maguire and then a rasping shot to the roof of the net by captain Ruairi McGlinchey.
That was enough to give Greenlough a five point lead at the break.
Half-Time: Limavady 1-01 Greenlough 2-03
The second half saw Greenlough dominate again, but they took their time to show their dominance on the score board. Points from Damian McTeague Christopher Maguire and Enda McNally kept the score board ticking along, before Cathal McGurk fired to the net to ensure daylight between the sides.
Sub Sean Tohill swung over a well taken point, before Kevin McDonnell's audacious penalty left the Limavady 'keeper flat footed and the ball in the back of the net with the last kick of the game; leaving sixteen between the sides at the full time whistle.
