Well lads who'll go in as favourites for this one? This is an interesting match up as Cork, like ourselves have just completed a 3-in a row of provincial titles. I believe the game is down for April 20th in Tullamore. Should be a massive Cavan crowd in attendance. We've been there or thereabouts in the last few years for an All Ireland title at this grade. We have a great generation of talent at u21 recently, and we need to crown it off with an All Ireland. I think this current crop are capable of it. Cork will be typically big, strong and physical, but we have speed in abundance so hopefully we can frustrate them and we'll have the forwards to open them up.

It appears , if early bookie odds are to go by , that Cork will be raging hot favourites for this one . It's very difficult to judge as most of us will not have seen this Cork team in action but I'm very confident of our chances and am really looking forward to next match .
I just get the feeling this Cavan team haven't fully clicked yet and there is much more to them than we have seen . I've felt we have just been a properly executed move away from routing each of our opponents so far . When we've had them on their knees we haven't been clinical enough and have let them back into games . The last two games we've faced very defensive opponents and while we've handled them well I think we've played our best football against Monaghan because they didn't fear us and played a more open game . This team will not fear anyone and I hope they will move up a gear now they have Ulster out of the way and we get to see some fireworks in Tullamore . I think it is in them!

I think the shackles will be taken off the team mentally now, it seems very clear that Ulster was just a means to an end for these lads, a stepping stone to the All Ireland they believe they can deliver. They looked nervous last week and I think that was fear of losing the game, not fear of winning it. An AI Semi Final is where they wanted to be and where they believe they belong, so I think we will see a much better performance than Wednesday night.

That said, they still have to get past Cork who by all accounts are a typically powerful all action side. We will need to get our sharpness back in defence. Killian Clarke needs to regain his dominance in the square, he was beaten for a high ball v Monaghan that led to a goal, again against Donegal for a goal and got caught out by Gillespie who turned him well but thankfully blasted wide. Cork are heavy favourites but we are well capable of upsetting the odds.

The Cork game plan will be based largely on lumping in a high ball I'd imagine, they'll obviously look to use their height advantage. The only way to beat that is as follows:

1. If you can't make it, break it. Tell the fb line to break everything that comes in high, any clean catches and we're automatically in danger.
2. If there's going to be a lot of breaking ball in front of our goals, the half back line have to be on it like flies around s***e.
3. The midfielders have to track any bursting runs into our square to make sure no Cork man is free.
4. Secure possession, keep calm, and play football.

If cavan put in the team work that they have had all year , working as a unit and a team , Flanagan puts his head in were people wouldn't put a foot in , great captain and leader , there is a very strong panel of 25-30 players that will be called on any time to do a job , I think we might see a change or two , to the team may be seen yet

First things first, "the glass is always half empty with me" I have to admit that !
Secondly whatever happens on Saturday, this has been the best thing to happen in Cavan football for a long long time. What these batch of young fellas have achieved is absolutely phenomenal.
Now Cork. Lads Cork are Cork - serious pedigree. (11 All Irelands at this grade). Just looking at their squad there - packed with senior players, who have played in Division One this year, never mind fellas who have played in the 2011 and 2012 Munster Finals ! John ORourke, Jamie Wall, Damian Cahalane and Tom Clancy have all played in the NFL Division One.
I know Cavan have been mightily impressive in Ulster for the last three years, but this is a step up, a serious step up !
I actually think Galway will win it again ! Feel free to berate me lads, I'm thick skinned being a Cornafean man !

That might be true , but remember 2 years ago when Cork walked through Munster and it was dead cert that we would beat Galway in semi, look what happened then...Cavan then lost to Galway. This grade any thing can happen..it is a very strong team now as it was 2 years ago but anything can happen..makes for a cracking game
