Swad are playin well and puttin up great scores but they will not win championship, it'll be between drumgoon, ballyhaise and killashandra. I would of fancied Cootehill before the weekend, wat happened them against Knockbride? Also is it true that Johnston was playin for the Gaels second team?

Yeah Johnson played most of the second half for the Gaels second team. Only scored 2 points I think. I dont think its fair on intermediate teams to have him playing.

unless he was a full sub he is deemed to not have played at senior standard so in a nut shell he was able to play in the intermediate match regardless of how long he stayed on the pitch against Lacken as a blood sub.

however is he still deemed a 'blood' substitute if the game finishes and he is still on the field of play.

from what i was told he came on for Walsh and there was no hope of him returning to the field of play so it seems like foul play to me.

Yeah Johnston was on for most of the second-half, he was a only a blood sub for the Lacken game (a long one too i think) which means he could play against Drumgoon. Hannon kept him quiet though, but still not fair for Intermediate teams that their is not some type of structure in which a club with two teams must name about 15-20 players for their first team which can never play on the second team.

If he came on in the very first minuet of the match and remained as a blood sub that is just what he was was and thats the rule. A problem will only arise if the blood sub is sent off then things change for the club regarding his status. You have to hand it to Cavan Gaels they know the rules and they use them which they are entitled to do. Regard N.Walsh there was a chance he could have returned as his injury was it would seem to a finger maybe two.

well N.Walsh was in the stand for the Intermediate game and his hand was in some form or cast/bandage so i genuinely think that he wasn't in a state to return to the field of play on Friday. So the Gaels have bent the rules and i'm not saying its illegal as there was blood involved but if the final whistle is blown then surely the temp. substitute becomes permanent that's just my opinion i'm unaware of any ruling to prove my opinion but it makes sense that if a game finishes with any temp. sub then he should become permanent at the final whistle.

The 15 that played against Lacken couldn't play for the intermediate team so does that not suffice as a list. Add to that Enda King, Mickey Lyng, Levi Murphy, Niall Smith, Marc Leddy, Kevin Meehan, John Gurhy, Geroid Collins and Sean Reilly i think you'll find the Gaels are well within their rights to do what they want once they are not breaking any rules.

Just think about your post, if a blood sub is used with 3 minuets to go do then say he has to be classed as a full sub. If you have used your five subs how do you get around this. Its a rule thats there and until its changed clubs and county teams will use it.
