Wicklow secured their first win in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League this afternoon by seeing off London on a 1-16 to 1-9 scoreline in Aughrim.

Kevin Quinn’s goal after 18 minutes was what proved the difference between the sides at half-time, as the Garden men carried in a 1-6 to 0-6 lead.

Oisin McConville’s side saw full-back Paul McLoughlin sinbinned early in the restart for a trip which led to a penalty that Christopher Farley coolly tucked away for the visitors.

A Mark Jackson free was the immediate Wicklow response and they’d find another gear from there as Eoin D’Arcy (2), Mark Kenny, Quinn and the superb Dean Healy all sailed over points before sub Cian O’Sullivan rounded off their tally to confirm McConville’s first league victory.
