Wicklow 2-19
Roscommon 3-14
A dominant first half performance laid the foundations for Wicklow's victory over Roscommon in the first round of the Christy Ring Cup at Dr Hyde Park.
Christy Moorehouse bagged a brace of goals as the visitors built up a seemingly unassailable 2-11 to 0-4 lead after playing with the strong wind.
But the Rossies almost clawed it back in thanks to second half goals from Cathal Dolan (two) and Eamon Flanagan (directly from a free).
Offaly and Sligo were forced to concede their opening round games to Kildare and Derry respectively due to COVID-19 cases, but will have another chance next weekend in the backdoor series.
