Blessington club notes

October 12, 2020

The GAA’s Management Committee on the 5 Oct endorsed a decision to suspend all GAA Club games at all levels with immediate effectand until further notice.

Academy – 30 children attended the academy on Sat 10 Oct. The coaches would like to thank you to Sadhbh Fisher, Anna Vas, Curtis Geraghty and Martin Shannon for their help. Without this extra help, it would be quite difficult to continue due to Covid restrictions.

Healthy Clubs – The HCP are delighted to announce that after a huge success two weeks ago we will be continuing with our Sun morning session with the amazing children from Blessington and the surrounding areas. These children possess unique needs and abilities but are all so eager to take part in the training offered by our coaches. The HCP hosted their weekly inclusion session again Sun 11 Oct. Another great turnout. Well done to all.

U9 – Well done to U8 & U9 boys who had an enjoyable session with Paul Garrigan on the astro on 5 Oct. Thanks to Paul and all the kids.

U8 - Well done to the U8 girls who did a walk and talk on 7 Oct. We were blessed with the sunshine and the craic was great with the girls. Thanks to all the parents who joined also.

Blessington Prize Draw - Blessington GAA are running their only fundraiser this year. Draw will be held on 31 October 2020. Items need to be replaced e.g. boiler (not cheap) and repairs need to be carried out and pitches maintained. It's a hard job to keep everything in order and it costs! We are proud of our facilities and we are all proud Blesso members. Every adult and child benefits in many ways by being a member - training a couple of times a week, socialising, mental health, sense of community, presentations, memories etc. The club that we wear the "Blue and White" for. Let the past, present and future of the club play their part in maintaining the fantastic facilities we have. Each family and each adult member to sell ten €10 tickets. Let's spread it that everyone plays their part. Don't put the tickets in the back of the drawer. If you have sold your tickets contact your promoter to collect or drop to the promoter. All promoters will be calling to collect sold/unsold tickets 16 – 18 Oct. The promoter will drop tickets to all over the next couple of days. We are all in it together.
