Duffry Rovers jubilee team to be honoured
October 13, 2011
The Duffry Rovers jubilee team is set to be honoured at the half-time interval of this Sunday's Wexford senior football championship final between Horsewood and Castletown.
Rated as one of the top sides ever to emerge from the Model County, Rovers won seven titles in-a-row between 1986 and 1992, which eclipsed the previous record held by St John's (Volunteers). The team itself was backboned by the Fitzhenry brothers, while it also contained stars such as Louis Rafter, John Casey, Jay Codd and Jay Mernagh.
The county final itself will throw-in at 3.15pm at Wexford Park, where a close contest is being anticipated.
