Jack O’Connor has been named as the new Wexford senior hurling captain.
The experienced St Martin’s clubman will assume the role when he recovers from knee surgery. He is targeting Wexford’s Leinster SHC opener against newly-promoted Kildare in Newbridge on April 18 as his comeback game.
In the meantime, vice-captain Damien Reck will skipper the Model County in their remaining Allianz Hurling League Division 1B games.
O’Connor’s appointment means that for the first time in a decade, Lee Chin will not have a captaincy nor vice captaincy role with the county.

Another great honour for the club and for the O’Connor clan.
