Last Man Standing

Only seven out of 142 entrants have managed to make it through to week three of our National League Last Man Standing competition.

Carlow hurlers' sensational draw with Galway and Louth footballers' surprise win over Laois meant there was a huge number of fallers this week.

A great day for the parish!

Congratulations to Fr Brendan Corrigan, main contractor Michael Ennis - who soldiered with us for many years - and all involved with the rededication of St James' Church last Sunday. A magnificent building the whole parish can feel proud of.

We were delighted to take part in the offertory procession which saw Shaun Pidgeon bring up the Hugh Daniels Cup to the altar. Well done also to the volunteers from out club who looked after the parking arrangements on the day.

Sympathy

We extend our sympathy to the families of Jim Rock, Relic Road and Tom Ravenhill, Grange who both passed away last weekend. May they rest in peace.

Congratulations Susan

We were delighted to hear that Susan Moran, who grew up in Kilbeggan before moving to Tullamore and later to Philadelphia, is to be inducted into the Irish Basketball Hall of Fame this summer. Susan played in the women's NBA in the States for many years and was voted best ever female Irish player in 2015. She comes from good GAA stock with his father Martin having been a star player for Kilbeggan and Westmeath in the 1960s.

Lotto

Last week's lucky numbers were 2, 5, 26 and 28. Sinead Daly and Mai Cunningham were the Match 3 winners. This week's draw takes place in McNamara's with the jackpot standing at €15,000. Tickets, costing €2, can be purchased locally. Thank you for your continued support.
