Lough Lene Gaels ended a run of five winless SHAC fixtures, excluding the abandoned 2024 final, versus defending champions Castletown Geoghegan, one draw and four defeats for Lough Lene Gaels in those five fixtures, with a win by a margin of two points in this, a round 3 fixture of the 2026 Slevins Coaches SHAC, played at Mullingar’s TEG Cusack Park on Sunday evening August 2nd. Two of those aforementioned four defeats were the finals of 2024 and 2025, the former a rescheduled fixture and the latter a replay. In last Sunday evening’s fixture, Lough Lene Gaels 0.12 Castletown Geoghegan 1.12, was the match scoreline at half time.
Lotto
A lotto draw was held for a jackpot of €6000 on Sunday night July 12th at Bartleys, Drumcree. The four numbers drawn were 2, 7, 13 and 27 and the jackpot was not won. There were four Match 3 winners, namely Noel Briody, Ita Halpin, Martina Morgan and Daniel Higgins, each of whom won €25 . The Abbey House, Fore is where a lotto draw for for a jackpot of €6100 takes place next Sunday night, August 9th.

Joe Reilly, The Derries, Drumcree. Mr Reilly supported the Lough Lene Gaels Hurling and Camogie clubs lotto, and was a regular attendee at the Lough Lene Gaels Hurling club Tuesday night Bingo, until it was discontinued in March 2020, when there was a freedom of movement restriction and a public gatherings restriction both put in place as a consequence of the then prevailing situation as regards Covid 19
