Match Report: U14 Ballycomoyle Boys vs Shandonagh
The Under 14 Ballycomoyle boys made the trip to Shandonagh on Wednesday evening last 6/5/26 for what turned out to be a fantastic game of football played in beautiful conditions.
The home side started brightly, settling into the game quickly taking some great scores. Ballycomoyle found themselves under pressure in the opening half, with Shandonagh taking control and building a strong lead. Despite Ballycomoyle’s efforts, they went into the break trailing by nine points with a score of 4.4 to 7 points
Whatever was said at half-time had the desired effect, as Ballycomoyle emerged with renewed energy and determination. The second half saw a complete turnaround, with Ballycomoyle playing some outstanding football, working tirelessly across the pitch and showing great composure in front of goal.
Scores began to flow, and the gap steadily closed as the team displayed impressive teamwork and resilience.
In a dramatic finish, Ballycomoyle edged ahead and held on to secure a hard-earned one-point victory, completing a remarkable comeback final score 5.12 to 6.8
A great effort from all involved

Under 12 girls Go Games
Ballycomoyle U12 girls made the trip to Clonmellon on Tuesday evening last 5/5/26 on perfect evening for football to take on St. Paul’s in only their second outing of the season. With a fantastic turnout of 18 players togged out, the girls showed great commitment and enthusiasm from the start. Facing a good St. Paul’s side, Ballycomoyle never backed down and competed bravely throughout. There were some excellent passages of play, with the girls showing real skill and teamwork at times. Most importantly, they played with great heart and determination until the final whistle. A big thank you to all the parents for their support and for getting the girls there, and well done to the team for always giving their very best.
Result.
Under 16 ladies.
We welcomed St Lomans to Ballycomoyle on Tuesday evening last 5/5/26 in perfect conditions for the 4th round of the Under 16 League,
After some jersey issues the game got started and it was St Lomans who opened the scoring and pushed on from there.
The Ballycomoyle ladies kept going and were always in the game and for long periods were the better side but just, couldn't get the scores. It was just one of those nights.
We are extremely proud of these girls this was their first match as a complete U16 unit and with little or no training together to produce a performance like they did is testament to their determination and pride in the Ballycomoyle colours.
We want to thank Jimmy Weldon for refereeing, and to all the supporters who came out and cheered on the girls. Many thanks to St Lomans for a great Sporting game of football and we wish them good luck in the rest of their league campaign
Well done girls keep up the good work.
