Club Membership

Club membership for 2021 is now being collected. Our membership rates for this year have been amended and simplified to take into account likely ongoing restrictions on access to club facilities for much of the year. However your club membership subscriptions are a vital source of club income that facilitates team affiliations, insurance and more. Full club membership is set at €30 with social membership set at €20. Please contact any committee member or our club registrar, Darren Rigney, to renew your membership.

Lilliput Gaels Return to Play and Registration

Plans are currently bring made to safely return to training from 26th April onwards. Due to Covid restrictions we will not be holding a registration night and would encourage all parents to return completed registration forms to committee members or mentors as soon as possible. Registration forms, information on return to play Covid-19 protocols, training times and venues will be available on our Facebook page and from group mentors when available. Membership fees due for 2021 are €20 per player, apped at €50 per family. Looking forward to seeing all our young players back kicking football on the pitch again soon.

Young Reporters for the Environment

Best of luck to Shane King with his entry into this years Young Reporters for the Environment competition. Shane has produced a top class video highlighting illegal dumping, particularly in rural Ireland but he also looks at the wider impact that dumping has on the world. It is a great production with very professional reporting, so much so that Ciaran Mullooly better watch out! Shane is no stranger to media production after playing a big role in live streaming all of our championship games and our quarterly investor draws over the last year. You can watch Shanes video on our Facebook page, it is well worth watching.

Green Kilometre

Over the last couple of weeks we have included details of this scheme in our notes. Shane Kings report on illegal dumping in rural Ireland has again highlighted the rising prevalence of the issue. Shanes video received a great reaction on our Facebook page and a number of locals have indicated a willingness to take part in arranging clean-ups in their immediate locality with family and neighbours. To that end, we are more than happy to help co-ordinate and this week we will contact Westmeath County Council to arrange clean-up kits for distribution as part of this scheme. We are looking for volunteer leads in the different townlands around the village so if you would like to help, then please text 086 8318124 or email [email protected] this week so we can distribute the kits to your area. Full details will be delivered to volunteers but it really is as simple as asking a few neighbours and friends to walk your local road and pickup litter into the bags provided. We will then arrange pickup of the refuse bags. We look forward to working together with the community to help clean up our area.
