U14 Girls

A huge congratulations to all the under 14 girls and their coaching team on becoming county champions last Sunday. The girls deserved their victory with a great display of attacking football.

Throughout the game, and indeed the year, the whole panel has shown terrific team spirit and commitment to each other. Well done to coaches John and Pat for guiding these bright stars. Final score was Shandonagh 7:08, Milltown 6:00

Thanks

A big thanks to CL Tool Hire & Sales for their sponsorship of the U14 Girls jerseys. The players and coaches were thrilled to receive the jerseys last week and delighted to somewhat repay James with a great performance and win last Sunday in their final.

U15 Boys

A great U15 division one shield semi-final game between Lilliput Gaels and Shandonagh in a sun-drenched Ballinagore was had last Sunday morning. A tough and keenly contested game between two fully committed sides was served up. At half-time Shandonagh were up 2-5 to 0-6 with the aid of a nice breeze and the slope of the pitch. Shadonagh kept playing well in the second half but failed to convert some very good scoring chances. The scoreboard was level at the second half water break but Lilliput Gaels managed to find an extra gear to finish the game stronger. Final score Shandonagh 3-6, Lilliput Gaels 2-15. Well done to these young men as they have shown their resolve and grit during the year always producing good performances and improving on every outing.

U13 Boys

Hard luck to the under 13 boys who came up against a strong Mullingar Shamrocks last Saturday at home in their U13 championship semi-final. Shamrocks were the physically stronger and settled into the game earlier. Shandonagh tried their heart out but just couldn't find their usual pattern of play. It was an off day with many things going wrong for the young men despite them putting in the 110% effort. Credit to Shamrocks for their performance as they were worthy victors. The young Shandonagh men will learn hugely from this loss and can take heart from the super performances they gave us throughout their campaign.

U12 Boys

Well done to the under 12 boys who came out victors last Sunday evening in the Garrycastle tournament against St. Manchan's from Offaly. The young Shandonagh men produced a great spectacle with their support running and showing for the ball a joy to watch on a glorious sunny evening and the pitch looking magnificent.
