Jamie Barron says Fourmilewater know exactly what champions Ballygunner will bring when the sides meet in tomorrow’s Waterford senior hurling championship final (2.30pm).

In what is the club’s centenary year, Fourmilewater will be lining out in their first ever SHC final against a Gunners side chasing their 13th consecutive title in the Deise County.

Speaking to WLR FM, Waterford star Barron said: “Everyone in the county and possibly the country knows what Ballygunner have and what they’ll bring.

He added: “I know a lot of the lads and a lot of them are inside with Waterford and how they apply themselves and how they dedicate themselves and how they always want to get better.”

Fourmilewater, meanwhile, have the opportunity to create history on a hugely significant occasion for the club.

“For us, I suppose it’s about focusing on ourselves mainly,” said Barron. “We’ve done a lot of work, and it’ll be about just bringing the best version of ourselves, preparing properly this week and making sure we bring our A game, perform, and then you see where it takes you after that.”
