St. Barnabas came from behind to beat Sligo by 1-15 to 1-9 and retain their New York SFC title at Gaelic Park yesterday.

In a repeat of last year's decider, the team made up almost entirely of homegrown talent produced a dominant second half performance to win after trailing by 0-6 to 1-6 at half-time.

A goal from former Galway All-Ireland winning hurler Jonny Glynn handed Sligo the early initiative, but Barnaba's never looked back after a Conor Mathers major brought them level four minutes after the restart. Mikey Brosnan, Sean Reilly, Luke Kelly, Caolain Mathers and Tiarnan Mathers added points as Sligo finished with 14 players after Ger McCullagh was red-carded.
