Omagh CBS will face Sligo’s Summerhill College in the All-Ireland Post-Primary Schools Hogan Cup final on St Patrick’s Day after both sides came through their respective semi-finals today.

The Tyrone students were comfortable in a 4-14 to 0-8 win over Naas CBS in Clones, where goals from Ruairi McCullagh and Liam Óg Mossey in the second quarter helped the would-be winners to cut loose.

Owens and defender Caolan Donnelly settled the issue for Omagh CBS with further goals as they booked their return to the Hogan Cup decider for the first time since their triumph in 2007.

In Tuam Stadium, Summerhill College overcame St Brendan’s College, Killarney by 2-11 to 1-11 to book their second ever Hogan Cup final appearance.

Having built up a 1-8 to 1-3 lead by half-time, the Sligo students would fall behind with 10 minutes to go thanks to points from Sean Fitzgerald, Jamie Moynihan and Darren Ryan.

However, Ronan Niland fashioned a brilliant individual goal (see below) in response for Summerhill, which was backed up by the points of Dillon Walsh and Eli Rooney, and they now look forward to a Croke Park decider in less than three weeks’ time.
