Mary, Queen of the Gael, Pray for her.

Lucky 4 results for Monday 21st were 4 15 22 30, no jackpot winner this week but Mary Mulgrew and Julia Anne Conway picked up the lucky dip prizes. We again thank our patrons who play each week and support the club so well and again we urge everyone who isn’t playing weekly to please try and get involved as this is a vital fundraiser for the Club. Everyone knows by now how they can play so it’s only a matter taking the next step and supporting.

We’re only a stones throw from October and there’s still a world of football to be played but at present games are few and far between. Again this week there will be no Senior or Reserve men or Senior Ladies fixtures but our Ladies have a date on the horizon as the play in the League final on Friday 2nd October in Healy Park under lights, keep that date in your dairy.

Championship final dates await our Minor and U16 lads with the Minors also awaiting a date for their League Semis with the U16s already into their final, again no date. The U16s secured their place in the Championship final on Friday past after a fantastic victory over Moortown on a final scoreline of 3-16 to 2-16.

The 1st half was very competitive championship action throughout, with our lads going in at half time leading 2-04 to 0-08. The 2nd half took on a life of it's own with some enthralling football on display from both sides. High fielding, last ditch tackles and some eye catching scores dominated the play in the 2nd half. Credit to our goalkeeper Tiarnan Skeffington who made a crucial penalty save with 10 minutes remaining to help maintain a slender lead.  Every ball was being fought for tooth and nail as the game entered the last 10 minutes with James Canning and Mark Donnelly repelling a number of dangerous Moortown attacks. At the other end Eoin Conway and Dillon O'Neill were chipping in with crucial scores to see the lads home by 3 points at the finish. Tremendous credit to all the boys who showed a never say die attitude despite what a talented Moortown team were throwing at them.

With a number of these lads doubling up at minor level as well, they have put in a sensational effort of late to qualify for 3 finals and have an opportunity for a 4th with a minor league final place also up for grabs.

Well done to all involved and thanks for your commitment to date this year.

U12 lads travel to Galbally on Tuesday evening with the U10 lads making the same trek on Saturday.

At last the time has come for our U16 girls to get a crack at the whip with their league finally beginning this week, the ladies have waited patiently, keeping an eye on all the other youth teams enjoying football and now they can test themselves on Thursday evening with a home game against neighbours Galbally at 6:15.

Our U8 & U10 girls had an outing away to Donaghmore on Saturday past. The girls were up against a very strong St Pats side but that didn’t worry the Hoopettes. Both teams worked tirelessly throughout the four quarters of the game, making blocks, taking scores and playing brilliant team football. The girls should be proud of how much they’ve improved so far this season. Well done to all involved and great to see so many happy parents kicking every ball on the sideline with their team. Keep it up.

U14 girls have a home game this Sunday at 11am.

Thanks to Emma and Malachy for this weeks reports, it’s great for everyone to read how our teams are playing and improving each week. Keep it up folks.

Our next Klubfunder Raffle will be going live this week where we are giving you a chance of winning £500 for £5. Please keep an eye on Facebook and follow the link which will lead you to our account and you could be that lucky winner. Good luck.
