Derrylaughan Kevin Barry's club notes

September 15, 2020

Last Friday evening the 11th Sept the Senior Footballers travelled to Healy Park but with a few players missing and despite going in only 2 points down at the small whistle the Barry’s lost heavily on a score-line of 2-19 to 1-08. Best passages of play in the first-half saw some great attacking forward by the Derrylaughan defence including a massive hit by Sean Robinson that shook for a long time the Omagh No. 07 and a great break up the wing from and delightful pin-point pass by Conor Mc Cabe to James Donnelly who slotted it home to the bottom corner leaving the score 0-05 to 1-02 on 24mins. Omagh tagged another point from a free and one from play before half-time.

The best of the second-half saw Ciaran O’Hagan attack forward and take a good point from play and Thomas Carney finish after a good drive forward again by Sean Robinson and Fergal McAliskey. Omagh however took control despite the best efforts of the Barry’s including 3 more points from James Donnelly and at the end of the game the cross-bar denying Sean Cullen a goal! Scorers: James Donnelly 1-04, Ciaran O'Hagan 0-01, Darragh Carney 0-01, Stephen Mc Grath 0-01, Thomas Carney 0-01.
