Edendork St Malachy's Congratulations to the following winners of the Members Monthly Draw, £500 Martin Heatherington, £200 Liam Nelis, £100 each Cathal Mallon, Bridget Currie and Niall Mallaghan. The Christmas Members Draw will take place on Tuesday 22nd December 2009 in The Square Bar at 9:00pm, all members involved must be fully up to date to take part in that Draw. The deadline for this is Sunday 20th December. After an absence of approximately 40 years the Showband Scene returns to Edendork Hall on Boxing Night. In a one off special, the now legendary Miami Showband, supported by the Brian Mills Band, will provide "The Miami Beat for the Dancing Feet". Edendork St Malachy's GAC , in association with Mallaghan Engineering , are hosting the event as part of their ongoing redevelopment strategy and another spectacular evening under the theme "Rising from the Ashes" is planned. The organising committee are delighted that they have been able to bring such a talented, famous and popular band to the landmark hall in Edendork. The Miami Showband and Edendork Hall combine to provide a unique event, particularly as it takes place during the festive season. Nominations for the AGM can be viewed on the website. The Mass for Deceased Members will be held at 10:00am on Sunday January 3rd 2010. The Annual Awards Presentation Night is set for Gables on Saturday 13th February 2010. Tickets for the Club Draw "Rising from the Ashes" are available from any committee member. The Draw has a top prize of a Volkwagen Golf, supplied by Gerry McVeigh Motors, a second prize of £1500 Holiday Vouchers and a third prize of £500. Tickets are £10 each or 3 for £20. Omagh St Enda's GAC   Bingo continues as usual this Thursday 17th at Healy Park at 9pm with ¬£4000 in prizemoney. This includes the usual ¬£1000 house and two ¬£500 houses and other useful prizes. Please note that St Enda's organise a free bingo bus every Thursday in Omagh stopping at the following areas approximately: Townview Avenue (8.10pm), O'Kane Park (8.15pm), Tamlaght Road (8.20pm), Centra Brookmount Road (8.25pm), Pat Kirks (8.30pm) and finally Strathroy (8.40pm). There is also a free bingo bus which travels from Victoria Bridge (7.30pm) to Spamount (7.45pm), Castlederg (8pm) and Drumquin (8.20pm). Finally a bus leaves Ballymagorry (7.30pm), travels to Bridge Street, Strabane (7.45pm), Sion Mills (7.50pm) and Main Street, Newtownstewart (8pm) and on to Healy Park. Comhghairdeas to the Minor team who defeated a talented Armagh Harps 1-19 to 3-09 in the Northern Bank Ulster Minor Club Quarter Final after a dramatic game which went to extra time. They now play Derry champions Dungiven in the semi-final on Boxing Day at 1.30pm. The club, like last week, will be running a bus to this match. Please note the annual Boxing Day game has been postponed due to the Ulster minor championship semi final and will be held instead on Sunday 27th December. Comhghairdeas to Jason McAnulla who helped Jordanstown to win the All Ireland Ryan Cup last week. Commiserations to Barry Tierney who played in the Tyrone Vocational team who lost narrowly to Donegal in the Ulster semi-final. Also commiserations to the Sacred Heart College and St Enda's players' Mark, Daniel, Costin, Darren, Thomas, Sean, Cormac, Stephen, Niall, and James who lost the U16 Vocational Schools final to Holy Trinity. Gaelic Start has ceased until January. Player of the week was Eoin McAnulla. Circuit training continues for all 17-20 year olds at the club at 8pm on Friday nights. Could all these players return their training schedule for November and collect their December schedule at the notice board. Please note U14 training will commence the first week in January. Thanks to the hundred plus children and their parents who attended the Fancy Dress Christmas Party. A big thank you to the organisers and of course Santa. The lotto numbers were 3, 13, 14, 16 and 30 with P Cairns winning ¬£100 for four numbers. The jackpot now stands at ¬£5000 and would be welcome in any household in the run up to Christmas. Recently the club has been used more and more for private parties/birthdays/anniversaries etc and have been getting excellent feedback. New stock has arrived in the Club shop including new bags and polo shirts which will be open this Saturday (19th) from 10.30-12.30pm and next Monday (21st) from 7pm-8pm. PATRICK'S Hannah Montana Concert - High School Musical 1, 2 & 3: Eglish Sports Hall plays host to a live tribute show for Hannah Montana Concert High School Musical 1, 2 and 3 on Monday 4th January. This amazing show for children contains all their favourite songs and dances performed by a fantastic cast and would make for an ideal Christmas gift for all young children. There will be a raffle and other prizes on offer throughout the night too. Social Activities: A good crowd attended the Clubrooms on Friday night with Club Chairman Kieran Hagan speaking on our aspirations and intentions for 2010. The Eglish St. Patrick's G.A.C. 2010 Calender was also launched. Everyone was very impressed at the quality and content of the calendar and it can be purchased for £10 from the usual outlets. Friday night also provided the opportunity for everyone to meet our new Senior Manager, Ronan Murphy. We would like to thank Ronan for stepping up and taking charge and we wish him all the best in the coming year. Pairc Chormaic: Following the recent spell of bad weather work has commenced on Pairc Chormaic. Ground conditions are good which should allow the project to keep progressing relative smoothly. However, we still need the weather to be in our favour. Congratulations: Congratulations to Donal McAnallen who co-edited "The Evolution of the G.A.A.: Uladh, Eire agus Eile". This book brings together leading writers and academics to examine the history of the GAA over 125 years, in Ulster, Ireland, and abroad, and the antiquity of Gaelic games over previous centuries. The cost is £ 20 and it can be purchased from the editor, the Cardinal O'Fiaich Library in Armagh or Begley's Sports Shop, Dungannon. Congratulations to Pauric Daly and his group 'Chasing Hooley' on making it through to the finals of the All Ireland Talent Show on RTE. Well done and best of luck in the finals which are to be aired on RTE over the next few weeks Congratulations to both Cookstown and Emyvale on their recent successes in the Ulster Intermediate and Junior Club Championships respectively. On Sunday the club held their annual Bazaar and Draw. This was a very successful night. Clann Na nGael CLG Football There are a number of club jerseys, from various different teams currently missing. If anyone has a jersey at home can they return it immediately to either the management of that particular team or to any committee member. The trip for U14 to Minor girls has been arranged for Wednesday 30th all those going must have their completed permission slips returned by Monday 21st. An indoor winter programme for the U12 girls will commence on Wednesday 13th January in Dunnamanagh clubrooms at 7pm. Best of luck to Niall Conway and the Tyrone Masters team who take on Mayo in the All-Ireland Final this Saturday, time and venue are not yet known. Holiday Entertainment There is an evening of entertainment organised for Sunday 27th December in Aughabrack Hall. This will involve a Night at the Races, followed by Music by Brian Kerrigan. This should be an excellent nights "Craic", so don't miss out. Prior to this they will be a Married Men Vs Single Men game in Dunnamanagh, keep an eye out for posters with all the arrangements. Carrickmore Our Final of the very popular 'Tyrone's Got Talent' on Saturday night was a resounding success. A packed Patrician Hall saw local lad Micheal Quinn walk off with the title after delivering an electrifying performance. Runner up was Louise O'Kane and in third place game the dancers of Cliodhna's Academy. Congratulations to all who took part. They all played their part in making this a very memorable night. Thanks to all those who organised the event, those who helped out over the three nights, our sponsors and those who attended and voted. Fund raising continues and to this end we are hosting a 'Christmas Car-Wash' on Sunday 20th December from 9.30 to 3pm. Our Senior Ladies have volunteered to wash your car in their finest Santa Costumes and you can sit back and relax with a cup of tea/coffee and a mince pie. The meeting listened to various reports from all officers as well as a look back on how all our teams performed during the year. The following Committee was then elected to serve the club in 2010. The club had a number of players involved with the Dean Brian Maguirc U-14 Vocational school side that reached the county Final played on Monday evening past. The club is very proud of both the boys and their mentors achievement so far and wish them the best of luck for the Ulster Final. SCOR SINSEAR Anyone who is interested in participating in the Scor Sinsear competition for the club should put their name forward to the club's cultural officer Marie Quinn or Matt Tracey as soon as possible. Categories include; singing, dancing, playing music, poetry or novelty act. YOUTH FOOTBALL A strength and conditioning course is been run every Tuesday night at 8.00 in Gortaclady. The course is for all players U 16, U 18, U 21 and currently under the age of 23. The Youth Presentation Night for all players from U 8s up to U 16s will be on Friday 8th January in Sculleys. LOTTO This weeks winning lotto numbers were 3, 11, 12 and 15. There were no jackpot winners. However, 4 people matched 3 to win £25 each. Registration in the clubroom Thursday 16th December. Club members are reminded to use the clothes recycling bank at the pitch as it generates funds for the club. At the annual general meeting sympathy was expressed to the Conaghan and McLaughlin families on the recent bereavements. COOKSTOWN FR ROCKS GFC This week's lotto numbers were 13,14,15,16. There was no jackpot winner and two match three winners who each receive £50. The prize next week is £2100. All Ireland Semi Final Fr Rocks seniors are back in action again in the All Ireland Semi Final on January 24th. Lotto 100 The club are currently embarking on a new lotto fundraiser. The aim is to try and increase lotto sales to help with the ongoing development of Paddy Cullen Park. Our aim is to try and encourage 200 people to pay the weekly club lotto via Standing Order. For just £8.50 per month, £2.12 per week you will get two lines of lotto numbers per week and one free week per year. This will help the club in securing future funding. Details of lotto 100 and a standing order form can be obtained from all committee members and from the website. In the coming weeks members will also be able to play the club lotto online at the club website. Congratulations Congratulations to Holy Trinity College who collected the Tyrone vocational schools title on Monday evening with a 2-14 to 2-5 victory over Sacred Heart Omagh. The game was played under lights at Healy Park Omagh and the Holy Trinity team was backboned by a number of Fr Rocks clubmen with no fewer than nine involved in the squad. Well done to all involved and best of luck in the Ulster campaign. An Chárraig Mhór GFC 'Tyrone's Got Talent' An Chárraig Mhór GFC held the final of the very popular 'Tyrone's Got Talent' on Saturday night last and it proved to be a resounding success. Fourteen acts took to the stage in a night of great variety and entertainment. Presenter, Conor Philips, of Cool FM fame, proved to be a good match for sharp wit of the judges and managed proceedings with consummate ease as he introduced and interviewed each act. As MC he proved to be a side-show of his own and went down a treat with everyone. The first half of the night saw The Ward Sisters, Mary Baxter Dance Group, Ciara Martin, Moon Walkers, Shauna Mc Kernan, Natasha Quinn and Pizzicato entertain a packed Patrician Hall. After the intermission The Gatsbees, Bernie O'Brien, Cliodhna's Academy, Michael Quinn, Melissa Grogan, Louise O'Kane and Tyrone Dance had their chance to impress the large attendance and most importantly the judges Emma Heatherington, Stephanie Faloon, Carol Doey and Mickey Harte. Local lad Micheal Quinn walked away with the title after delivering an electrifying performance. There is no doubt we will see more of this exceptional talent in the future. Runner up, Louise O'Kane, pushed Michael all the way and in third place game the energetic dancers of Cliodhna's Academy. Congratulations to all who took part. They were all instrumental in making this a very memorable night. Thanks also to those who made 'special appearances' in the Grand Finale. The first trio of Curly, R.J. and Mickey T showed that they are still nimble on their feet when it comes to our traditional dance whilst another triumvirate, Oz , Roney and Pearse, made sure that anyone who witnessed them will never look at Beyonce Knowles in the same way again. Club Chairman Mick Daly brought events to a close and took the opportunity to thank Turlough Mc Garrity the event organiser and Paul Kelly the producer. He also said a big thank you to all those involved in administration, the stage, the set, the video, poster design, ticket sales and those who helped out in any way to make the whole project as successful as it was. His final words paid tribute to our sponsors who were again unwavering in their support and lastly he commended the audience for their attendance over the three nights. An Mhaigh Tir na nÓg G.A.C. Geraldine White/Gary O'Callaghan Memorial Cup The Annual Christmas Charity football match between An Mhaigh G.A.C. and Antrim club O'Donovan Rossa will be held at Pairc Th'r na nÓg, Moy on Sunday 27th December at 1.30pm. All proceeds are in aid of cancer research. This will be the third year in which our two clubs will play for the Geraldine White/Gary O'Callaghan Memorial Cup, with Moy winning the new trophy in 2007 and Rossa emerging victorious in 2008. This year's fixture will see the Moy team made up mostly of past players and other well known local faces. Those who played in our club's Recreational Tournament last summer have also been invited to take part.
