Tipperary came through a titanic battle with Galway this afternoon to book their place in the All-Ireland minor hurling championship final against either Kilkenny or Clare in two weeks’ time.

It finished 1-24 to 0-26 after extra time at the TUS Gaelic Grounds, where Cillian Minogue’s point on the 80-minute mark was the difference between the sides in the end.

The teams were all square on 0-12 apiece at the end of an exciting first-half at the Limerick venue, and it was Tipp that looked like getting over the line once Euan Murray netted their goal with 10 minutes to go in the second-half.

Murray’s strike moved the Munster side into a 1-15 to 0-14 lead but Galway fought back and registered points through marksman Brian Callanan to force extra time where he'd help them take a two-point lead before the scores of Murray, Cillian Cantwell and the excellent Minogue snatched a dramatic victory for the Premier County.
