The Tipperary footballers have received a huge boost with the news that All-Star forward Conor Sweeney is on the verge of a return.

The 2020 Munster SFC-winning captain is expected to return to full contact training in the next fortnight after recovering from an ACL injury he sustained against Down in the Allianz Football League over a year ago. 

"It has been a long old road, but should be back in full contact with the lads in less than 10 days, so, another two weeks will see me back and I may be, hopefully, ready for selection then - all going well," he told Tipperary Live. 

"It's 12 months now, 13 months actually since I had the operation. Once I get back in with the lads, I'll be happy."
