Clonoulty-Rossmore are to honour the memory of Dillon Quirke by naming their grounds after him.

The 24-year-old was playing for his beloved club against Kilruane McDonaghs in the Tipperary SHC last August when he collapsed and died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). Dillon won All-Ireland minor and U21 medals before making the wing back position his own on the Tipp senior team last season.

The decision to name the pitch after Dillon comes after a foundation was set up to screen GAA players for SADS, with gate receipts for the Allianz Hurling League game between Tipp and Kilkenny at FBD Semple Stadium on February 19 going straight to the foundation.
