Tributes have flowed since the tragic passing of Tipperary hurling star Dillon Quirke last night.

The 24-year-old had been playing for his club Clonoulty/Rossmore yesterday evening in a county senior hurling championship game against Kilruane MacDonaghs at Semple Stadium when he took ill and collapsed during the first-half and was later pronounced dead at Tipperary University Hospital.

This is an inestimable loss not only to his family and friends but to his entire community to which he was making such a contribution. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin also that he was "shocked and saddened" by the news of the Tipperary star’s death.
