The draw for round 1 of the Tailteann Cup has taken place.

With the group format consigned to the bin, the new knockout system comes into play with all teams given a second chance up to the quarter-final stage.

The first round takes place on the weekend 9/10 May but if either Westmeath or Down lose their provincial semi-finals this weekend and end up in the Tailteann Cup, their game will take place the following weekend.

The eight Round 1 winners will meet in Round 2A while the eight Round 1 losers meet in Round 2B. The four Round 2A winners progress to the quarter-finals with the Round 2A losers playing the round 2B winners for the remaining quarter-final places.
