Corduff club notes

Sympathy:

The Corduff/Raferagh area and far beyond  was plunged into deep and profound sadness on Saturday morning as the news of Michael McEnaney's untimely death filtered through communities at home and abroad. Having borne his illness with extreme strength and bravery Michael fought the fight to the end. A character for sure, his legacy and antics both on and off the field of play will live on in the memories of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. A Corduff Gaels stalwart, like his brothers , he was a life long member  both as a tough skilful player and later as a supporter. He attended  matches right up to the end offering good advice from behind the fence including at this year's Intermediate Championship. Not only did he support his three sons Keith, David and Sean but also his daughters Ciara and Elena when they lined out for Corduff Ladies. As Father Seán Mulligan said in his Funeral Homily Michael lived his life by the 4 fs, f for farming, football, faith and of course family. Fr Sean also added that if you were going into battle you wanted Michael on your side leading the charge such was his courage and strength. Corduff Gaels and Ladies united in grief turned out in huge numbers on Monday morning to perform the guard of honour as Michael made his final journey to St John's Church Raferagh and his final resting place. Corduff Gaels and Corduff Ladies would like to extend sincerest sympathies to his beloved wife Clare, sons Keith,David and Sean plus his daughters Ciara and Elena, to his brothers Tom,Pat,Frank,Seamus and sisters Margaret, Ann, Nora and Bernie plus a wide circle of nephews and nieces. Ar dheis Dé Go Raibh a Anam.
