Chairperson of the Meath Hurling Committee Martin O'Halloran confirmed at last night's county committee meeting that Sunday's Kehoe Cup fixture Meath v Kildare scheduled for Hawkfield will not be going ahead.

Nick Weir's side were due to take on the Lilywhites in their final round tie at the Kildare venue. Both counties were well beaten by Carlow and Westmeath respectively in their two outings to date and had nothing left to play for.

Kildare will entertain Meath in the opening round of the Allianz Hurling League Division 2A at Newbridge on Sunday, February 6th.
