1993 All-Ireland B winners to be honoured at SHC final

Meath captain Pat Potterton receives the All Ireland Senior B Cup from Sean McCague at Ruislip

The Meath team that captured the 1993 All-Ireland Senior Hurling B title will be guests of honour at this Sunday's hurling final in Pairc Tailteann.

Managed by John Davis they defeated London in the decider in Ruislip, 2-16 to 1-16. Pat Potterton played his usual captain's role in the final and scored 1-11 with Paddy Kelly hitting 1-4.

In the home final Meath defeated Westmeath in Tullamore, thanks to a brace of goals from Mickey Cole.

The Royals started their campaign with with a 2-21 to 2-6 trouncing of Kildare in Athy  with Ivor McCaffrey and Mickey Cole scoring the goals. They followed that up with a 0-18 to 2-8 win over Derry in Keady. Twelve of the Meath points came from Pat Potterton.
