This comment sounds like you were just waiting for Meath to lose last night. Really good come back with great impact off bench so very disappointing to lose. Perhaps some of substitutes showed have started. Hopefully these young players will learn and develop from this experience and become good adult players.

It's seemed at time and now, that to force those three lads off in a schools game was and is the wrong thing to do. I can fully understand people's annoyance and frustration. Football can be cruel. No need to make it crueler. A successful u16 county management team was replaced for county minor competition and the it hasn't worked. Lessons to be learned. Feel very sorry for these young men. They did us proud. Meathooooo (Meath) - Posts: 49 - 25/04/2024 09:29:53 2540553 Link 2 |
Very unlucky to lose last night, they were electric for the last 10-15mins to get themselves ahead after looking like the game was dead and buried halfway through the second half, that kind of resilience will stand to them and be a good platform to get a run at the Tier 3 LowerHogan (Meath) - Posts: 24 - 25/04/2024 13:47:20 2540609 Link 0 |
I'm not going to be too critical as they are kids and as mentioned before, there was not a huge expectation for the group. A couple of nice footballers there but Wexford ran the show for 40 minutes and their midfielder who got the three goals was head and shoulders above anyone else ability wise.
