Replying To Ba7:  "Do you not think Saturday at 2pm that lads would be working Saturday eve or Sunday morning would be more practible"
Well my brother was involved in an u19 management team at the end of last year and they looked for one of their group games to be moved from 2 pm Saturday to 6 pm under lights. The opposition said they couldn't because they had lads working in bars and the local hotal starting work at 7 pm. His team also had lads working sunday mornings in coffee shops etc .

Point is with age profile of most teams being quite young now you have lads mainly students working all kinds of hours at weekends so Its impossible to pick a time that suits all.

Replying To 199710:  "I think using the word shambles is a bit far fetched. You have to remember that some clubs requested this and one of the big blockers for fixtures is refs but don't think this is at play next week. if you think its a shambles then id love to see your proposal. I look forward to seeing it posted and if you don't then don't be so critical. If there was a stag I'm sure lads wouldn't have an issue of heading off at 2pm."
Now that's the biggest spoof I've heard some clubs requested it fixtures should be placed on times where most lads won't have work commitments alot lads have to work Saturday due to the times we're living in . Didn't hear too many complaints to the way it was done last year

Sometimes I think this forum should be called the Meath Moaners Forum

You can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time

This meant that another of the groups has an odd number of teams in it (3) which means there are bye weeks for teams which is not great for continuity at start of year. Be interested to know why they not taking part?

I don't see Skyrne in the Reserve Cup either which I think is very surprising!

Yes some clubs have requested it rather than playing on the Sunday. Every club were asked to submit their requests via a goolge form for days of the year where they have upcoming events such as weddings, stag or other club engagements and this was done before the fixtures were published but you would have known that if you were active in you're club. This is a positive step forward this year where clubs are been asked for their opinion's before decision are made.

I posted this already I thought but not appearing anywhere! I was coming home from Maynooth on Saturday and stopped in Dunboyne to see the Feis Cup game between Dunboyne and rathoath - Ger Robinson was reffing!!

Not sure what was going on but it appears nominated ref didn't show! I only watched about 20 minutes! Something wrong here if there aren't refs available for Feis Cup games on a Saturday!!

Do we have an idea when the draws will be done for the hurling cups/championships? First cup games are down for Saturday and Sunday week and still no sign

Eh? Presumably the game will have to be played then before the final round

No the game was played . No idea of the score but both teams agreed for it to go down officially as a draw and by looking at the Meath Gaa website the CB agreed to this because it's in as a draw.
