No-one mentions the centre back from skryne, has always played well and looks physically strong.

I called him as being a boltet for Sunday. Very good player, kept carrying the fight to Dublin and driving at them. Starting at 6 for Skryne last year. I think he should be brought in and around the senio4 panel even if he's still underage next year. Started at 6 in the minor all Ireland in 21.

While certainly can be a factor it's hardly exclusive to Meath. Its the same for every county in the country so dont think you can use it as an excuse.

What is your point here ? They are favorites to win the all ireland? So that makes them a brilliant team?

From the teams I have seen so far which includes Meath and the teams left in the competition such as Dublin Kerry Sligo and Kildare I don't see any outstanding team .

From what I have seen so far this years u20 standard nowhere near the standard of the past few years so yes I do believe this Dublin team is only an average team but that may be good enough to win an average standard u20 All Ireland

Don't forget Down & Derry still there aswell.
Down have seemingly been very impressive in their 2 games so far and Derry have a lot of their all ireland winning minor team of 2020.

U17 to U20 = transition from amateur to professional.

Meath continue to struggle in pro era unfortunately.

You are on the money there…..I have been saying it for years…it's been a problem since the minor team of Joe Sheridan, Brian Farrell and Frankie Murphy got to the Minor final (2002 I think) and were destroyed by Kildare three years later. But nobody seems to care. Arrest that fall off in form and a lot of ills will be cured.

lack of a Central Figure or body who are responsible for a Cohesive and Detailed approach to bringing Players through the "pathway" . The theory is we have All the Documents and the pamplets and even the right structures in place so that on the Surface we "tick all the boxes" ...the reality is , we lack the very thing that is crucial to making it work right...quality people who understand how much beyond "talent" is needed to transition young players through to a high Inter county Standard ....while i have my differences with COR on how he sees himself & the world around him, I have sympathy with him & each of the last few Senior Manager as they are at the End of the conveyor belt...and we are expecting them to fix something that is "not working properly" long before it comes to them

Average yes, but what does that make Meath then? Worse than average? Kildare looked a far more aggressive, skillful and well coached team than Meath.

Meaths problem is more fundamental. Everywhere I read,"the players are not there". The question should be, WHY? We need to look at the structures in place, starting at the clubs. Player Pathways are there to develop the skills and the person. Unfortunately, most coaches won't/can't use them. Who are coaching the young players? Fathers? The parent who wants to make sure their child is at the centre of the team. I ask you to look at your club juvenile section. How many of the coaches are parents of the players in the team? Have a look at the county juvenile coaches! How many parents are there coaching there children? Look at other county backroom staff, very different set up. An audit of club and county coaching needs to be done ASAP. Then put a plan together to improve the standard of coaching. We also need to unite as a county. STOP this football v hurling. We are one county! Fix the Fundamentals!

That's exactly what it makes Meath unfortunately.

That was my point last week. That we had been beaten and beaten pretty comfortably by an average Dublin team and I was told this Dublin team were the bookies favourites for the All Ireland.
